Dr. Michael Boehm gave the crowd an inspiring look at the possibilities of Nebraska agriculture at the Businessperson’s Breakfast at the Platte County Fair last week. Dr. Boehm made his second official stop in Columbus since being named University of Nebraska vice president for Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Chamber Ag Committee and Platte County Ag Society co-host the breakfast with the aim of bringing together business and agriculture. Dr. Boehm’s remarks were a blend of both worlds as he touched on issues that affect all business, not just agribusiness. Citing just one example, he told the crowd he has a passion for seeing the University help Nebraska address workforce shortages across the board, not only in agriculture, during his time at IANR.
Also at the breakfast, the Chamber Ag Committee honored past-chair Allan Vyhnalek for his 16 years of service to the committee as he moves to Lincoln to continue his service to the University.
